Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP)
If your borrower’s vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen and not recovered, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) in most cases will pay the difference between the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of the vehicle, which is determined by the primary insurance company, and the unpaid balance of the loan.
After witnessing the negative effects of the 2008 financial crisis, auto buyers are more conservative in taking on additional debt. In the event of a customer’s job loss, we offer a uniquely positioned product that allows customers to alleviate the burden of negative equity without impacting their credit adversely.
